JOCO WORKS is a premier workforce development initiative, connecting industries and Johnston County students to build a sustainable local talent pipeline. From initial career exploration in middle school to professional skill-building and summer internships in high school, we provide a pathway for students to transition into the professional world. By aligning education with employer needs, we empower the next generation of our workforce while strengthening the economic future of our region.
The JOCO WORKS WOW Ambassador Program empowers ninth-grade students to return to the expo as leaders. Ambassadors capture digital content while facilitating vital connections between local businesses and their eighth-grade peers. Students express their interest in the program via a competitive application process. After completing a half-day training in leadership, communication and team building, WOW Ambassadors stand ready to lead with confidence and excellence.
